General Goals:

  • Provide advance hands-on training on networking technology and Internet access and applications in the Spanish language.
  • Form a critical mass of professionals in networking technologies, information processing, network services, and project management to foster Internet utilization in the Latin-American and Caribbean countries, with emphasis on educational, health improvement and productivity enhancement.
  • Identify and reinforce individual and institutional links for national and regional activities based on Internet.

Participants:

The participants must be involved in the planning or deployment of computer networks for Internet connectivity or the usage of Internet for the purpose of improving the quality of education, health-maintenance, collaborative projects and other communal goals that can benefit from IT technologies, from either governmental, NGO and the private sector.

Internet specialists from Latin America and the Caribbean will share local and regional experiences to avoid pitfalls and highlight best-practices. Seven concurrent tracks will cover different aspects of IT technologies, with plenaries for topics of general interest.
